tarot का उद्गम सही रूप में तो किसी को भी पता नहीं है यद्यपि आम तौर पर यही माना जाता है के इनका परचार परसार जिप्सिओं द्वारा ही हुआ था। सत्य तो यह है के उनके द्वारा ही यह यूरोप में पहुंचे जहाँ इन पर काफी कार्य हुआ। १३ वीं शताब्दी में पहुँचने वाले इन कार्ड्स पर ३-४ शताब्दी काफी अध्यन मनन चालू रहा और इनका रूप परिवर्तित होता रहा। कहा जाता है के इनके मौजूदा रूप पर मुस्लिम जगत के " मक्कुल कार्ड्स " का काफी परभाव पड़ा था। मक्कुल कार्ड्स में भी सूट , कप्स , सिक्के, तलवारें तथा पोलो स्टिक्स के पर्तीक होते थे।

इनका शुरूआती पर्योग इटली के परचलित एक प्राचीन खेल तारोची के लिए होता था। यह खेल आधुनिक ताश के खेल से मिलता जुलता ही खेल है। यह खेल दुनिया के कुछ हिस्सों में अभी भी खेला जाता है। यदयपि इसके कार्ड्स की मौजूदा संख्या व बनावट tarot cards की मौजूदा संख्या व बनावट से काफी भिन्न है.एक समय में इटली के रजवाड़ों में तरोची नमक खेल काफी लोक प्रिया था। आज के tarot cards का रूप उनसे कुछ कुछ मिलता जुलता है। इस प्रकार कई कार्ड्स का विकास हुआ। लेकिन "दा फूल" और ताश के जोकर में बिल्कुल भी साम्य नहीं है। जबकि १५ वी शताब्दी के आस पास त्रोत कार्ड्स का पर्योग शुरू हो गया था। जोकर नामक कार्ड का पर्योग तो १९वी सदी में "यूकर" नामक स्थान से हुआ जहाँ पर त्रोत कार्ड्स का बिल्कुल भी परचालन नहीं था। इन कार्ड्स के इर्द गिर्द सबसे पहले रहस्यता का ताना बना सब से पहले अन्तोयानी कोर्ट दी गेवेलियन ने बुना था। १७८१ में पेरिस के एक राज मिस्त्री ने इस का उल्लेख किया था। उसने इन से सम्बंधित कई कहानिया पर्चाल्लित की थी। ऐसे कहा जाता है के मेजर अर्काना के कार्ड्स तो क्ब्लाह से लिए गए हैं...!

इन कार्ड्स को सर्व प्रथम लोक प्रिया बनाया था "ऐतीला" ने जो के गेबेलियन का समकालीन था। उसने एक निबंध लिखा था। इसकी लोकप्रियता में एलिफास लेवी , ओसवाल्ड बर्थ , पापूस का भी काफी हाथ था। फ्रांस से इन कार्ड्स की लोक प्रियता इंग्लैंड पहुँची। कुछ विद्वानों का मानना था के इन कार्ड्स द्वारा भविष्य कथन करना इनके स्तर को नीचा करना है। आदर्श रूप में इन लोगों के अनुसार कई शास्वत अनुभव में इन कार्ड्स का पर्योग किया जाना चाहिए । परन्तु भविष्य कथन में इन कार्ड्स की उपयोगिता आज भी लोक प्रिया है और निरंतर बढ़ रही है.......

साढ़ेसाती के चरण

ढाई वर्ष तीन चरण का, साढ़ेसाती काल
विपदा कष्ट कलेश का, विछ जाता है जाल !

लग्न बाहरवें या दूजे, साढ़ेसाती का काल
हरिश्चंदर सा राजा, रावण सा चंडाल

किसी राशि के बाहरवें, शनि अगर आ जाए
साढ़ेसाती का प्रथम चरण, सर पर शोर मचाये

व्यय बहुत होता है इसमे, हानि और नुकसान
कारावास का दंड लगे, या भटके इन्सान

राशि में परवेश हुआ, ढाई वर्ष के बाद
रीढ़ की हड्डी टूटेगीजातक होगा बर्बाद

जातक की छाती पे यह, मंद मंद मुस्काए
न मरने न जीने देवे , जातक चैन न पाए

चरण तीसरा दूजे घर , शनि का हो परवेश
अन्तिम ढईया अब हुआ , ढाई वर्ष हैं शेष

पैरों पर आकर बैठा , आफत का यमदूत
वर्तमान की सुध रखना , बीत गया है भूत

अग्नि परीक्षा अब होगी , मत हो जाना फेल

दान की महिमा अद्भुत है दान से हो कल्याण।
कुत्ता जाति के जंतु को , देता रहे खुराक

विक्रम जैसा योधा भी ,पिंगल और लाचार !

आप का भाग्यशाली रत्न-
प्राय लोगों को देखता हूँ वह दायें- बाएं हाथों की ऊंगलियों में रतन जडित अन्गुन्ठइयां पहने होते हैं। मेरी समझ में उनकी नादानी उनकी मजबूरी से जुड़ी होती है। कष्ट में पड़ा व्यक्ति अथवा स्वयम की महत्वकांक्षा पूरी करने के लिए बह उन उन रत्नों को धारण करता है जो जो भी उसे समय-समय पर ज्योतिषी या तांत्रिक बताते हैं। कुछ ज्योतिषी तो रतन विक्रेता भी हैं। अतः वे एक व्यक्ति को एक साथ कई कई रत्न बता देते हैं! ऐसा करके वह जातक का नहीं अपितु अपना ही भला करते हैं।
सूर्य और रहू केतु का,
ब्रहस्पति और शनि , रहू, शुक्र का
चन्द्र और रहू-केतु का
शुक्र और मंगल -ब्रहस्पति और शुक्र से वैर है।

जब-जब भी विरोधी गुणों वाले रत्न पहने जाते हैं तो वह जातक को या तो नुकसान देते हैं या फ़िर वोह तटस्थ हो जाते हैं। क्योंके एक दूसरे की रश्मियों के परभाव को काट ते रहते हैं ।

सब से पहले ये बात समझ लेनी चाहिए के मुख्या रत्न महत्वपूरण है। जैसा नम वैसा ही परभाव होता है।
दूसरी बात यह के यदि एक या दो रत्न धारण करने से लाभ होता है तो अधिक रत्न क्यों पहने?
तीसरी बात यह है के भागयावर्धक ग्रह का ही रत्न धारण करना चाहिए। उस ग्रह से सम्बंधित रत्न धारण करना उचित नहीं है जो आशुभ परभाव देने वाला है।
चौथी बात यह के रत्न आप अपनी शुभता के लिए पहने। यह न हो के एक और तो शुभता मिल रही हो और दूसरी और माता पिता पत्नी पुत्र को कष्ट हो। ऐसा रत्न नहीं पहनना चाहिए।
पांचवी बात रत्न जितना उत्तम होगा उतना अधिक भाग्य वर्धक होगा। किंतु हर व्यक्ति उतम श्रेणी का रत्न नहीं धारण कर सकता इस लिए माध्यम श्रेणी का रत्न भी धारण किया जा सकता है।

वास्तव में रत्नों वह शक्ति होती है, जो ग्रहों की रश्मियों में vibration और गरूतावाकर्षण एवं रंग खींच कर आपके शरीर मन आत्मा हृदय को परभावित करते हैं। अतः उन ही रत्नों को धारण करना चाहिए जो आप की कुंडली में शुभ एवं भागय्वर्धक हैं। अथवा जिस शुभ ग्रह की महादाश चल रही है।

एक बात अच्छे अच्छे ज्योतिषी भी भूल जाते हैं के अशुभ ग्रह की पावर कम करने के लिए उस ग्रह का रत्न नहीं पहनना चाहिए। यदि कोई ग्रह ख़राब है तो उसकी ख़राब शक्ति को कम करने के लिए उसका रत्न पहनना उचित है तो शुभ ग्रह का रत्न पहनना उचित नहीं है। यदि अच्छे ग्रह के लिए रत्न पहनना उचित है तो ख़राब ग्रह के लिए रत्न पहनना उचित नहीं है।
ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है के रत्न पहनने से ख़राब ग्रह की अशुभता घटेगी !!!!

उदाहरण के लिए ---यदि आप मधुमेह के रोगी हैं। तो यह सर्व विदित है के इस रोग में शर्करा /चीनी/मीठा वर्जित है अशुभ है। अगर हम मधु मह के रोगी को मीठा,चीनी और शर्करा देंगे तो उसका अहित ही होगा न के शुभातव ...
पर्त्येक लगन के लिए कम से कम तीन ग्रह तो सहायक होते ही हैं। उनमे से किसी एक या दो का चुनाव कुंडली अध्यन करके चयन कर लेना चाहिए....
